Racial Diversity Gaming Hour 19 - F2P vs. P2P vs. B2P

Posted in ps4, gaming, vita, ps3, video games, Racial Diversity Gaming Hour, xbox, nintendo, Wii by psu on May 30th, 2014

Episode 19 is finally here, and the most racially diverse gaming cast on the Internet has things to say (as usual). Join host Glenn "The Commissioner" Gordon, KGB Garri Bagdasarov, Ben Sterling, and newcomer Mike Harradence (officially dubbed "The Muscles from Brussels") as they discuss the news in gaming.

YouTube is making plans to buy Twitch for a billion dollars, and gamers are concerned that like YouTube, Twitch could have an influx of ads and content could be removed for digital rights management purposes. Hear why the cast thinks this is not entirely accurate.
The Xbox One will soon have an SKU at the same price point as the PS4, minus the highly-touted and much maligned Kinect camera. GameStop has reported greater interest in the Xbox One since this new disKinected SKU was announced, but will the difference be enough to significantly dent the millions-wide gap between sales for the Xbox One and the PS4?
Free-to-play, pay-to-play, and buy-to-play are three business models that have caused controversy among gamers for years, and KGB Garri has something to say about it. Which is the best business model, and is there any hope for the others? Also, can Driveclub's microtransactions be successful without harming the community?
Finally, The Commissioner has an important message about E3, and the cast makes predictions about what we could see on June 9 and how it will affect Sony, Microsoft, and Nintendo. All this and more comprise a great episode of RDGH.
The intro and ending music are remixes of "Logan's Journey" from the Guild Wars 2 soundtrack. The intro is from the Sunny Glade level of Super Adventure Box, a dungeon within Guild Wars 2. Hear the rest of it and more at ArenaNet's official SoundCloud; the game has a seriously great soundtrack that's worth the listenThe ending is a metal remix of the intro song, created by very talented game music remixer, DusK. Hear the entire song here, and be sure to subscribe to him for more great remixes.

Racial Diversity Gaming Hour 18 - Is Far Cry 4 Racist?

Posted in ps4, gaming, vita, ps3, video games, Racial Diversity Gaming Hour, xbox, nintendo, Wii by psu on May 22nd, 2014

Episode 18 comes during an exciting week for gaming, and the most racially diverse gaming cast on the Internet has something to say about it! Join host Glenn "The Commissioner" Gordon, KGB Garri Bagdasarov, The Prodigal Son Ernest Lin, and our good ol' Host with the Most Dane Smith as they tackle the issues this week.

Could the PlayStation Vita be getting another price drop? Can Sony handle another price drop?
Nintendo won't be at E3, opting instead to use Nintendo Direct once again. Is this a good move for the company? With talk of new Nintendo consoles incoming, has Nintendo finally given up on the Wii U?
Microsoft has a hunch as to why it's so far the behind the PS4 in sales. Does the old argument about Sony's presence in multiple territories making for more sales ring true?
Also, it's like Resident Evil 5 all over again with the announcement of Far Cry 4, which looks like it will be a highly anticipated game. An apparently controversial cover had some gamers outraged--and in turn, Dane and Glenn are both outraged at those gamers. Hear one of the biggest rants on RDGH so far about a controversial topic, all in the latest episode of RDGH.

Racial Diversity Gaming Hour 17 - PC vs. Console

It's Wednesday, and that means a new episode of the most racially diverse gaming podcast on the Internet today! Join host "The Commissioner" Glenn Gordon, "The Shapeshifter" Fraser Miller, and once again, our other Host with the Most Dane Smith as they discuss the issues in modern gaming.

Dane's review of the God of War collection got some criticism. Are reviews really worth listening to, and what should gamers look for in a review? Also, is it really worth remaking games?
Nintendo had to apologize recently for not allowing homosexual relationships in one of its games. Lately, more and more games have been allowing for homosexuality. Is this a trend that could continue to grow? Should it?
For gaming, what makes PCs better than consoles? What makes consoles better than PCs?
Also, does Sony have the right idea in giving indie gaming more attention? Will we start seeing fewer AAA games in the future, and what makes a AAA game a AAA game anyway?
All of this and more comprises episode 17 of the Racial Diversity Gaming Hour. Enjoy!

Racial Diversity Gaming Hour 16 - Cybercrime

The most racially diverse gaming podcast on the Internet is back with its sixteenth episode and its equally diverse cast returns with it! Join host Glenn "The Commissioner" Gordon, Ben Sterling, and KGB Garri Bagdasarov as they discuss the latest issues in all kinds of gaming.

Sony is expecting a huge loss for this fiscal year, and it probably has very little to do with PlayStation. More than 1,000 independent developers have signed up to self-publish on the PS4, and Sky Go and Now TV are coming to PS4s all over the UK--but why not Xbox Ones? Mario Kart 8 is making waves for the Wii U. Also, is it important for companies to uphold their Terms of Service, or is it a losing battle?

There are not one, but TWO rants this episode. KGB Garri is mad about new terminology in Child of Light, and Ben is somewhat bothered by CCP's flip-flopping at the expense of EVE: DUST 514.

Racial Diversity Gaming Hour 15 - The Xbox One Episode

Posted in PlayStation Universe, ps4, gaming, ps3, video games, xbox by psu on May 10th, 2014

Our cast lineup is a little crazy for this one! One has to go, so we have an extra one on. Join host The Commissioner: Glenn Gordon, The Prodigal Son Ernest Lin, Ben Sterling, Fraser "The Shapeshifter" Miller, and for most of the cast, KGB Garri Bagdasarov as they discuss the issues in all kinds of gaming.

After a cast about PlayStation and a cast about Wii, the most racially diverse gaming cast on the Internet turns to Xbox to discuss the status of one of the leading consoles of this generation. Day One editions of the Xbox One are still on sale. Microsoft has begun marketing in Japan and seems to be up to its old tricks--but Japan may not be taking it seriously.
Also, Japan has a very interesting way of measuring console power....
All of this and more makes episode 15 of the most racially diverse gaming podcast on the Internet today.
